Technical SEO Implementation
Description
Technical SEO is not a plugin you toggle after launch. If the CMS does not produce healthy pages when an editor leaves a field empty, you will get empty titles, duplicate descriptions, and a sitemap that lies.
We put SEO into the architecture:
- Every relevant template has title, description, and social image fields.
- Every field has a fallback — usually the page title, the short description, or the default share image — so a blank input still renders something search-safe.
- Sitemaps and robots are generated from real documents, not a static file you forget to update.
- JSON-LD is emitted from the same data the page already has (Organization, Article, FAQ, Breadcrumb) — not a second copy of the truth.
- Performance is part of the build: image renditions from the CMS, sensible caching, no client JavaScript for content that should be HTML.
We also train the people who will write. The system should not require an SEO specialist to publish a service page. The specialist should be able to go further, not be required for the basics.
The implementation we use on our own site is documented in Technical SEO. For multilingual URL and hreflang work, see Multilingual websites.
What's included
- SEO-ready CMS fieldsTitle, description, share image, index control — with automatic fallbacks when an editor skips them.
- Structured dataJSON-LD for the page types you actually have. No fake Review schema. No stuffed keywords.
- Sitemaps and robotsGenerated from published documents. Admin routes stay out. Localized sitemaps when you have locales.
- Editor trainingWhat each field is for, what a good title looks like, and what the system will do if they leave it blank.
The challenge
Most CMS setups leave SEO to whoever is typing that afternoon. Half the pages ship with missing descriptions or the same title as the homepage.
Fixing that page by page does not hold. The next intern will leave the next field empty. We fix it at the field and fallback layer, then prove the site can actually be crawled and rendered fast.
What we do
- Audit the current setupOn a new build, we design it in. On an existing site, we list what is blocking crawl, index, or performance.
- Build the fallback systemEmpty fields must degrade to a safe default, never to an empty tag.
- Work performance as part of SEOCore Web Vitals are not a separate product. Images, fonts, and HTML come first; we pick tools that match the project.
Our process
- 01
Technical audit
Crawlability, metadata, canonicals, performance budget, and the CMS fields you already have.
- 02
Field and fallback architecture
What editors see, what the frontend emits, and the order of fallbacks.
- 03
Implementation
Metadata helpers, sitemap, robots, JSON-LD, image renditions.
- 04
Editor handoff
A short guide plus a walkthrough. After that, publishing should not need us.
Why choose us
Built in, not bolted on
SEO lives in the same collections as the content. It is not a third-party overlay that drifts out of date.
We publish the method
You can read how we do metadata, sitemaps, and schema in the docs. The client site uses the same patterns.
No fake metrics
We will not promise rankings. We will promise a site that is eligible to rank: crawlable, unique, fast enough, and not shooting itself in the metadata.
Frequently asked questions
No — the system is built so that even an empty field falls back to something SEO-safe automatically.
