Project Discovery & Consulting
Description
Most people who write to us are not sure what they need. A full custom site. A landing page. A better version of what they already have. Sometimes, nothing yet.
This session exists to answer that before money changes hands. We talk through the questions that usually stay unsaid: how is this different from a WordPress template, how a website is supposed to make you money, and whether your budget can support the outcome you have in mind.
We look at the business, not just the pages. Where customers come from. What they need to do on the site. What you can maintain after launch. Then we recommend the smallest thing that will actually move the needle — even if that is a smaller project than you expected, or a different tool than the one you asked for.
The meeting is free. The point is not to sell a package. The point is to get in a room (or on a call), see if we can work together, and leave you with a clear picture either way.
If the right next step is design, that is UI/UX Design. If you already know the product, that is Custom CMS Development. If you are not sure, start here.
What's included
- Business & goal reviewWhy a site, who it is for, and how it is supposed to produce a result — leads, bookings, trust, or something else specific.
- Needs assessmentWhat you actually need versus what a template already covers. We write this down so scope cannot drift later.
- Custom feature scopingAnything outside a standard brochure site: booking, directories, dashboards, multilingual, SEO-heavy publishing.
- Budget-to-output mappingThe best result your budget can honestly support. If the budget and the ambition do not match, we say so in the room.
The challenge
Agencies skip this step. They send a proposal based on a form, then discover the real requirements three weeks into build. You pay for scope you did not need, or you miss scope you did.
We treat discovery as a working session, not a pitch. You should leave knowing what to build, what not to build, and why. If we are the wrong team, we will say so. That is cheaper for both of us than a bad fit six weeks later.
What we do
- Ask the uncomfortable questions firstBudget, timeline, who will write content, who will maintain the site. These decide the architecture more than the visual style.
- Map your funnelA website that is not connected to how you sell or get found is decoration. We locate the pages that have a job.
- Give you an honest recommendationIncluding “use a template,” “wait until you have content,” or “this is a product, not a website.” You do not owe us a yes.
Our process
- 01
Short intro call
Business, audience, current site (if any), and what “done” would look like. Usually 30–45 minutes.
- 02
Needs and feature review
We separate must-haves from nice-to-haves, and flag anything that needs custom work.
- 03
Budget alignment
We match a realistic output to the money and time you actually have — not a wish list.
- 04
Written proposal
Scope, sequence of services, and a price. No surprise line items after you say go.
Why choose us
No pressure, no upsell
The session is free and has no hidden next invoice. If you leave and never hire us, it still did its job.
Honest scoping
If you need less than you thought, we tell you. That is how we keep projects from turning into rebuilds.
Senior-led from day one
You are not handed off to a junior after the call. The same two people who scope the work write the code.
Frequently asked questions
It depends on the job the site has to do. If a template gets you there, we will say so on the call. Custom work is for when the structure, CMS, SEO, or features of a template would fight the business.
Other services you might need
UI/UX Design
We turn the idea into a real Figma file — wireframes, brand direction, and a full interface you can react to before anyone writes code.
Custom CMS Development
Your approved design becomes a real website powered by a maintainable CMS. — Payload, a Git-based option, or WordPress when that is genuinely the right tool.
